Based on the DFG memorandum “Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice”, participants will receive an overview of the rules of good scientific practice and how to deal with scientific misconduct. Case studies will be used to illustrate conflictual situations in everyday research and options for dealing with them. The course offers an opportunity to reflect on values and attitudes as scientists, and questions and ambiguities from the respective fields of activity can be discussed.
Content: The content is based on the recommendations of the curriculum for courses on “Good Scientific Practice”, which was created on behalf of and in cooperation with the Ombudsman for Science: Good Scientific Practice Scientific misconduct Handling of ideas, data and sources Authorship and publication process Supervision Conflicts of interest and scientific cooperation Dealing with conflicts Dealing with scientific misconduct and the scope is adapted to a full-day course.
